Semester 1 Final

This reflection photo was taken for our reflection project at the start of the year. Personally, this is probably one of my favorite photos that i've done this year since it was when I started using little props from home in my photos. Using this little bread, I wanted to use the "cute" side of it as if it was about to go out.

Original

New

In the original, I didn't really like how you could still see the bear so clearly. What I did was retake and edit the photo to make it so you can slightly see the bear. I also moved the light a bit when I retook it so you can see half of the camera on the phone as if it was an eye. It's also a lot darker with the light around the shadow putting a little more emphasis on the shadow.

I believe that Surrealism is a way to get your creative gears flowing. These photos showed the more creative side of artists and some of the things they might dream about. To me, surrealism is getting all the little things you don't want to describe or talk about out there. The abstractness of the photos allow them to weird out the viewer and attract them at the same time.

Project 3 Part 2 - Fine Art Vs Commercial

Fine Art Photography 1
This photo shows my little cousin holding her little stuffed animal as she's hiding in fear. The lack of light on her face gives the picture a more ominous look to it as she looks off to the side waiting for something to happen in the dark.

Fine Art Photography 2
This is another photo of my little cousin still holding her little stuffed animal. This time though, she looks a bit less scared as she stares right into the camera. The point of this picture is a progression of her getting over her fear of the dark.

S2 Project 3 - Photo Essay

By Mary Ellen Mark I chose this photo because I think it has a good story behind it. The sign gives a lot of information about the time...
